Lace up for Hope: Join the FLM Haiti 5K!

The FLM Haiti "HOPE on the Move" 5K Walk is an annual Pittsburgh-based fundraising event, often held in Highland Park, that supports the Functional Literacy Ministry of Haiti. The walk supports initiatives in education, health care, and vocational training (through the Excelsior Technical Institute) to provide opportunities and promote self-sufficiency for Haitians, allowing in-person and virtual participation. The event raises funds and awareness to support 70+ adult literacy centers, a school for hundreds of children, and a health clinic managed by Haitian professionals. Participants "walk, bike, or run" to help the organization, which has operated for over 40 years, continue its mission despite political unrest and natural disasters. It serves as a community gathering for fitness, solidarity, and to support the work of Bishop Leon Pamphile in empowering communities. Individuals can register to attend in person at the Highland Park Reservoir or virtually from their own location.
